East Central Soccer Jamboree
For decades, PVYSC has hosted an end-of-season tournament for all of its recreational teams.
For many years, it was strictly an in-house affair. For the past several seasons, the club has worked with the Menasha Area Soccer Club to host the tournament and invited recreational teams from around the state.
Building on that success, 2010 will feature the next generation of the tournament, which will feature the involvement of all the clubs within the East Central Soccer District that support recreational soccer programs. This year's tournament will be open to all recreational teams in the region, from U5 to U19, both coed and girls.U5 to U10 teams play exhibition matches, while U12 and higher teams battle for championships.
As in previous years, PVYSC will enter all of its teams in the tournament. Coaches have received an initial e-mail, and more details will be emailed as the tournament takes shape.
One big change - the dates. Because most teams will end their season by July 4, the tournament is scheduled for June 18 & 19 at the USA Soccer Complex in Appleton. The tournament will be rotated among the member clubs, and is expected to return to Neenah in 2011.
As in past years, PVYSC teams will need to provide volunteers to help run the tournament. Additional information will be made available to coaches and parents on what is required as soon as it is available.
