New Business
Flatgrass Recap- Trish Zander/Jerry Mortimer The tournament went well with very few issues. Our volunteer force was strong, and the Boosters actually had some people leave as we were “overstaffed”. Buffalo WildWings considered it a success for the first year considering the wedding. They will be back for the Jamboree and would like to attend again next year for Flatgrass.
Booster Fundraiser-Trish Zander was asked by the Neenah HS Boosters to add a link to our website for the bathroom project as we have done for their bricks. This will be passed onto Andy Dubey to complete.
June Board Meeting Date- Cathy Thompson Due to the Jamboree tournament and the Classic team organization, we will have our June board meeting either June 27, 28, 29 or 30. Date to be announced later this month.
Jamboree-Cathy Thompson requested an update on the plans for the weekend. Marti is recommending U-5 and U-6 be pulled from the weekend as we are one of the few that sent this age group last year. She will talk to the coaches to suggest an alternate celebration for this age group. Shane Roh shared that his team will more than likely not have enough players to field a team and requested that teams be allowed to combine for the weekend to allow for those interested to have the opportunity. The board supports this approach. A committee meeting will be scheduled after the EC meeting on Tuesday.

The club organizes and conducts the tryouts for teams playing under the PVYSC banner. Some of our older age groups are allowed to run their own tryouts. However, all registration and publication for those teams must be coordinated with the club.
· U10D stands for U10 Development, a program that is open to U9 and U10 players as defined under the U10D listing in the chart above. These teams will play in the U11 competitive leagues of the East Central Soccer District. It is recommended that players play at least one year of U10 recreational soccer before considering this option. Parents and players will need to sign a new form with detailed description of U10 D upon acceptance to a team. At this age group PVYSC strives to form equal teams not first and second teams.

PVYSC Classic Try Out Policies
PVYSC Policy for Playing up an Age Group for U12 and above: Limited to maximum play up as allowed by WYSA or EC District, whichever is more restrictive. Player must be ranked in the top 50 percent of the first team for the age group in which they are trying out.
Every effort will be made to ensure there is no conflict of interest. Evaluators and members of the Coaches Committee will not participate if they coach, have a child, or are trainer for team/s in specific age group/s.
Classic Coaches may observe try outs but will not participate in any manner.
Parents - It is recommended that parents not attend tryouts; if parents attend they will be asked to remain in the “parent area” throughout the tryout.
No scores or rankings will be published for coaches. Listing of the team will be provided in alphabetical order.
Coach may request roster adjustments subject to approval of the Coaches committee.
**********************************************************************************************************************
Team Selection Process
1. Once the tryout has been completed, the scores will be computed and all players ranked by the coaching committee. The score is based on the coaches’ evaluation (40%) and the evaluators’ scores (60%).
2. The committee will meet with the first team coach and present a roster of the top players in their age division. Players will be presented in alphabetical order.
3. The Coach may request roster adjustments subject to approval of the Coaches committee. These adjustments are limited and must be justified and approved.
4. The committee will then fill out each roster to its appropriate number – The A Team roster will be set first and those offers will go out within accordance of East Central guidelines – no sooner than Monday, June 27. As soon as the roster is set for the A team, the procedure will repeat with B and C, etc. The committee will create additional teams if needed to handle all competitive players.
5. Once the players receive their offer they have 48 hours to either accept or reject and it must be in writing. (e-mail is an acceptable form of writing)
Team Formation and Player notification
Player notification will begin June 27. This is due to the new East Central by-laws “No player may be offered a position on a team prior to one week following the official start of the tryout season. For example in 2011 the official start of the tryout season is June 20, no player may be offered a position on any team or with any club until June 27.”
All players will receive an email and or a phone notification of acceptance or decline in a timely manner. Timing is based on the formation of all teams in an age group. Every effort will be made to have all notifications completed no later than July 9.
Tryout Process
What: Player’s equipment for try outs should include a pair of shorts, a white t-shirt, soccer shoes, shin guards, a ball of the proper size with their name on it, and a personalized water bottle. Remember to bring a copy of the player’s birth certificate, registration fees, & forms if applicable. To avoid bias, we ask that players not wear their current uniforms – they will be identified by number during the evaluation.
When: Players may start checking in 30 minutes before the evaluation is scheduled to begin. The players will be assigned reversible numbered pinnies as they arrive.
How: In the first part of the evaluation, the players will be divided into groups and will rotate from one station to the next. The stations generally include 1v1, 4v4, shooting, and passing/receiving. Players spend 15-20 minutes at each station before rotating to the next. After the groups have visited each station, the players will be given a rest while the evaluators converge to discuss players. After the break, players are split into teams for an on-field scrimmage that may last 20-40 minutes.
Who: Parents may obsever and we appreciate their silence during the tryout process.
Tryout Dates
Tryouts for classic teams will be held beginning June 21. All tryouts will be conducted at Memorial Park-Neenah. See individual teams and age groups at www.PVYSC.org for times and locations.

A and B teams vs even divide at U11 level-Kevin Wasco Discussion was held, and the intent at U-11 is to have a Red team and a White team, not attempt to equally divide the players.
Academy at U10D-Kevin Wasco Discussion was held, and the intent is that we have the U10D workout together and develop together as a true developmental program, not to make a Red and White division.
Review of Calendar (standing item) All tasks are up to date.
