President Update

Web Site Update- The site is live. It is still a work in progress, but we are getting many positive comments.
EC Jamboree Dates/Update- All timelines are met so far. Date is set (June 17-19) and it is on our website.
WYSA AGM/ workshop- Many interesting opportunities for parents, coaches and board members.
WSCA hall of fame- Many of the legends and foundation setters of Wisconsin Youth Soccer were honored. Coach Harry Kelderman had many past players who attended as well. Marti encouraged all board members to try and participate in the meetings each year if possible.
Strategic Planning- We will move on this, but we have to get the tournaments underway and taken care of. The board has been challenged to identify potential members who might be of benefit in organizing and leading this type of an undertaking. Marti will ask Carl at the EC meeting for an estimate of the cost for the EC planning as well as the time required for the pre-work.
Recreational Update- We will work on more improvements to our process as soon as registration and rostering is complete for the 2011 season. Brainstorming will take place related to potential discounts for early registration, sign-up option at the Jamboree tournament and any other ideas to improve the process and encourage more timely registration to prevent complications related to deadlines.
PVYSC Night/Ball girls for NHS- It was decided that the Classic girls’ teams will be encouraged to be ball girls for home high school varsity games.
Cathy Thompson made a motion that the first 20 PVYSC players through the gate with their jerseys on for Neenah High School Varsity Soccer games (boys and girls) will be paid for by PVYSC for the 2011 seasons. Motion was seconded by Tom Wanamaker and passed unanimously.
A second motion was made by Cathy Thompson that each PVYSC player will receive a $1 off admission coupon and a coupon for free popcorn to be used at any regular season Neenah High School Varsity Soccer game. The player is required to wear their PVYSC jersey. This motion was seconded by Tom Wanamaker and passed unanimously.
We will work with the booster club and the school district to create the process for reimbursement. Further discussion will take place at the April board meeting.
Referee Mentor Program U8 &U10-Mike Jones- Mike is still working on the funding of the program and will now work through the state. Also discussed was a practice day for referees and scrimmage day for soccer teams to be held in Menasha on April 16th for U-8 through U-12 teams. Times to be determined.

Flatgrass Update (Pins, concessions, balls)- Trish Zander reports that the pins are in, concessions have been coordinated with the boosters, and Sean has ordered the balls. At the next committee meeting, the trophies will be picked. Tom reported that the shirts are on track as well.

Pictures- Jill Rechner has coordinated the pictures with PMI at the Horace Mann gym. We will only agree to a one-year contract at this time and seek bids for next year. Picture packets will be provided in the coach’s packets for Classic and Recreational teams. They are in May this year to allow for the pictures to be handed out before the end of the season.

Classic Coaches Meeting/Townhall Meeting- Trish Zander reports the agenda is nearly complete. A copy of what is in the coaches’ packets will be requested from Sean. Jill reports that the equipment is ready. The meeting will be at the Neenah Public Library from 6:30-8:30 on March 29th. An e-mail blast has been sent out to all parents and coaches of classic teams.

Old Business
Discussion was held regarding the hiring of a Director of Coaching. The board would like the focus to be on both Recreational and Classic coaches development with a focus on developing quality coaches and players. A future discussion will take place on a job description as well as salary. The board has been challenged to brainstorm potential club members that may be of assistance in helping to work on this project.
