Attendees: Marti Coan, Trisha Zander, Cathy Thompson, Rhoda Sievert, Tom Wanamaker, Carlton Sealock, Jill Rechner, Chris Trudell, Mike Jones, Jerry Mortimer, Randy Kuehl
Excused: Kevin Wasco
Guests: Sam Scanlan from Pinnacle Fine Portraiture, Ryan Mortimer
Call to Order at 7:10 pm
Approval of Minutes - No minutes for the December meeting were available.
Photos: Sam presented to the board a picture packet to review; Pinnacle has the staffing and experience to handle the number of teams for NSC. Pinnacle would like to be considering in the bidding process.
President Update:
Job search: 9 applicants, will start with interviews
Classic Uniforms: Marti will look into Stephens in Milwaukee for Classic Uniforms for short term solution, Jill will provide info on Adidas uniforms, Marti will look into ordering extra uniforms & socks
Winter Skills update: 71 participants so far, cancelling 2-3pm no participants attending
Jamboree Mtg: Scheduled for June 9 & 10 at USA Sports Complex, Appleton hosting, U8&U10 will have 2 games on Saturday, U12 & up with play-offs, May 17 the teams must be turned in- using LeagueOne for registration, ASC will be looking for young refs. Looking to do skills testing for U5 & U6 fun night
Town Meetings:
One needed for classic & rec
Every team should be represented
Need master coaches (Mason Brandt has volunteered to help again this year)
4-yr old league: Looking for someone to lead, 1 vs 1, parent & child participating, maybe high schoolers help out
Flatgrass update: Jerry has the radios locked in – will not donate will have to pay, Randy will be looking into the warming tent heater – will check with tent people & fire dept, Trisha will be scheduling the February meeting, Jim Schmidt’s family is helping out by handling registration, scheduling & scoring
Rec update: Carlton reported that there has been a 200% registration increase, the e-mail blasts are working, Marti worked with Bonnie to get it into a school’s electronic newsletter, late registration fee of $25 will start February 1
Sponsor Update: Jerry is working on sponsorship for rec & also continuing with Flatgrass, Jill with look into jerseys w/ Sports Graphics
Fund Raiser: Neenah Soccer hats & scarfs, Jill will look into it
New Business:
Photo Contract: Jill will compare the packages, picture dates have been set as May 15 & 16 at Horace Mann. Randy Kuehl made a motion - If Pinnacle can match the package pricing from last year, then a one year contract will award to them – which was seconded by Chris Trudell. Motion passed unanimously.
Dick’s: Jerry has the coupon books for the shop day. Marti will look into picking a date.
Review of Calendar (standing item)
Old Business:
Signage: Ryan Mortimer had questions to clarify the signage for his Eagle Scout project. 5-10 portable, collapsible “fair play” signs & the 4 signs at Memorial Park will have “Sponsored by Neenah Soccer Club” added.
NSCAA Update: Marti is excited what she learned and can’t wait to share. “Raise the level at the lowest level, raises the level of play at the highest level”
Strategic Plan: Marti discussed from the NSCAA the need for the club to have a strategic plan. Chris Trudell made the following motion “The President shall form a committee to research vendors to develop a strategic plan. The committee has resources not to exceed $5,000. The committee shall bring recommendations before the Board of Directors.” The motion was seconded by Cathy Thompson and the motion was passed unanimously.
Classic Team Registration: Two high school boys teams still need to register.
Adjournment: Tom Wanamaker made a motion to adjourn at 8:31 pm and Jerry Mortimer seconded. Motion was passed unanimously.
