Paper Valley Youth Soccer

Board of Directors

Due to the anticipated lack of quorum, the Paper Valley Youth Soccer Club did not conduct a regular business meeting. In accordance with its bylaws, the board took action on several items of business via electronic means.

The following action items were considered and voted on by electronic means:

FLATGRASS TOURNAMENT:

Justin Oshefsky and Michelle Muchowski would like authorization to contract with the city to make the green space at Memorial Park playable for tournaments this year. This will likely require additional cutting, seeding and rolling costs. They will report in estimated costs before moving ahead.

Approved.

MEETING DATES:

A few years ago, moving the meetings to Wednesday seemed like the best option and for a while did indeed work best. That is not the case now. Given that most weeknights are game or practice nights. Muchowski made a motion to move the monthly board meetings to Sundays.

Motion Approved.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS:

The state recently released the bid packet for hosting the state cup championships. Sean Johnson circulated this among board members and there have been several positive responses. A motion has been made by Oshefsky for PVYSC to bid on the tournament. Motion Approved

MLS CAMPS:

The Chicago fire have proposed the week of July 28 for the classic team camps for the new season. We need to give them feedback. Johnson has made a motion to set July 28 as team camp week.

Motion Approved.

Those are all the items that need immediate attention. There are a couple of other items I will pass along as FYI at this point.

SOCCER WEEKEND:

We have been approached about making Soccer Weekend part of the Kohl's American Cup series for recreational teams. After discussing this with Kurt Schodorf in Menasha, we both think this could help to bolster our recreational programs. We are exploring if our weekend is available for this summer yet. It could enhance revenue and create a recreational showcase for the area.
